Routine Monitoring & Care

Routine cardiac monitoring is a key strategy for effectively preventing and detecting cardiovascular diseases. It offers valuable insights into your current heart health while also enabling us to identify and address potential complications early on.

During your routine screenings, our medical providers will perform blood tests, review your dietary choices and lifestyle, and supply you with useful health tips. From early detection to pacemaker monitoring, our cardiovascular care services at Twin Lakes Heart Center will help you achieve long-lasting heart health.

On-Site Testing & Ultrasound

Our on-site testing tools allow us to obtain valuable information about your heart’s electrical activity without the need for an additional office visit. During your routine monitoring appointment, we will perform multiple tests.

  • Blood pressure tests measure how hard your heart pumps blood through the arteries. It helps detect any irregularities that may indicate hypertension or cardiovascular issues.
  • Cholesterol level checks help detect whether your cholesterol is high and manage risks associated with heart disease.
  • EKG/ECG monitors your heart’s rate and rhythm to detect any possible risk associated with heart attacks.
  • Echocardiograms are ultrasound tests that help monitor your heart’s structure and function.

Regular cardiovascular tests help detect diseases early before they develop into serious issues and also monitor any pre-existing chronic conditions. By assessing your overall health, your doctor will be able to adjust your treatment plan as needed.

Pacemaker Clinic

Pacemakers are implanted devices that send stimulating signals to help your heart stabilize its rhythm. Our pacemaker clinic provides comprehensive care, including routine follow-ups, battery replacements, troubleshooting, and adjustments as needed.

Routine Follow-Ups

Once your pacemaker has been placed, your doctor will let you know how often you need to have your pacemaker checked. In most cases, check-ups are advised every three to six months to monitor the device’s battery life and proper functioning. During these visits, we will assess your symptoms and overall response to determine if any adjustments are needed.

Adjustments & Troubleshooting

We specialize in fine-tuning all the components of your pacemaker to ensure it properly stabilizes your heart rhythm. If you experience any symptoms like twitching muscles in your chest, slow heartbeat, or irregular palpitations, our team will help you swiftly address these issues.

Battery Replacement

Most pacemakers need a battery replacement every 5 to 15 years. This is a simple procedure done under local anesthesia and does not require recovery time. Timely replacement is crucial to avoid any device failures and cardiac issues.

Preventative Care

Our preventative care approach prioritizes early detection and intervention before the initial symptoms appear. We focus on counteracting heart attacks and strokes before they occur, avoiding the need for surgical interventions.

This involves guiding you into adopting heart-healthy strategies, such as:

  • Maintaining a healthy diet
  • Performing regular exercise
  • Monitoring your blood pressure frequently
  • Maintaining low cholesterol levels
  • Limiting alcohol and tobacco use
  • Managing stress
  • Following recommended medical advice

During your evaluations, we will provide you with personalized advice on how these habits can help you avoid heart disease and manage your current condition.
